Ballylongford is an excellent base for touring north Kerry. Ballybunion, Listowel, Tralee and Tarbert are all only a short drive away. The village is home to writer Brendan Kennelly and there is a festival here every August to celebrate this literary genius. Nearby Carrigafoyle Castle is well worth a visit or you can play a round of golf at Ballybunion Golf Course, one of Europe's best golf courses.
