Glencar, which is situated in the heart of the county beside the Caragh River, is an excellent base for touring the Iveragh Peninsula. The area boasts magnificent views of the McGillycuddy Reeks, Ireland's highest mountain range. With excellent angling facilities you can fish to your heart's content or perhaps you would prefer to test your golfing skills at nearby Killorglin Golf Club. The town of Killorglin itself has many fine pubs and restaurants, where seafood is always on the menu.
