Caherdaniel, Co Kerry

Copper mines were worked here over 4,000 years ago, and an old butter road runs from the village which is now part of the Kerry Way walking trail. The area is rich in archaeological remains. Derrynane, the home of Daniel O'Connell, is next to the village in Derrynane National Park. The park contains a glorious beach and some lovely walks.
